1 st July, 2026 Retirement Announcement

Drs. Peter and Emily Barnsdale would like to provide formal notice of our upcoming retirement from full-service family practice at Mission Oaks Medical Centre 30th September 2026.

For those patients that live in the Mission, Abbotsford and East Maple Ridge area who wish to remain with Mission Oaks Medical Centre we anticipate the arrival of two physicians, new to Mission Oaks in September and December respectively, who will be able to offer ongoing family practice services. Please call the office to book first meeting appointments as you would in the normal course of events. Pending investigations will be followed up by the new physicians.

For those patients living outside the Mission, Abbotsford and East Maple Ridge area we recommend you contact the BC Health Connect Registry online through Healthlink BC at: https://www.healthlinkbc.ca/find-care/health-connect-registry or by calling 811 to register that you are seeking a local family doctor or nurse practitioner due to retirement.

For follow up care including pending results and medication refills after 30th September please contact your local Urgent and Primary Care Centre (call 811 to be directed to your nearest centre). Once established with a new doctor or nurse practitioner please have them contact our office for release of your confidential charts with your signed permission and note there will be a small charge for records transfer to cover costs.

For all: if you will need medication refills before 30th September, please consider asking for them early to avoid overwhelming us at the end of the month. We are grateful for the opportunity to serve Mission and our neighbouring communities over the past 23 years in our capacities as Family Physicians and thankful for a wonderful group of patients, colleagues and staff that it has been our pleasure to work with and who we will miss seeing on a daily basis. Thank you to everyone we have spoken to for their well wishes during the past few weeks and we look forward to continuing to see many of you in different settings going into the future.
